Police charge man for child pornography-related offences

Police have charged a Dartmouth man with child pornography-related offences.

Earlier today, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of an address in Dartmouth after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that a Dartmouth man had been sharing sexually explicit images online with a 12-year-old female youth located in Wisconsin. Investigators, with the assistance of members of East Division Patrol, seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.

Investigators in the ICE and Vice Units arrested a man without incident at the scene.

Brandon Klayme, 22, of Dartmouth, has been charged with one count each of:

  • Luring a person under the 14 years of age by means of telecommunication – Criminal Code Section 172.1 (1) (C)
  • Providing sexually explicit material to a child – Criminal Code Section (171.1 (1) (C)
  • Possession of child pornography – Criminal Code Section 163 (1) (4)

He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.

Police ask anyone with information on child pornography to file a report by calling police at 902-490-5020 or by using Cybertip, Canada’s National Tip Line for reporting online sexual exploitation of children, at www.cybertip.ca.
