Police charge man for multiple offences

Police have charged a man for multiple offences that occurred in February after a search of a residence on Friday.

On February 11 at approximately 11 a.m. police received a report for a theft at the Sobeys located at 2651 Windsor Street in Halifax.​ A man had stolen merchandise from the store and left the area on foot.

On February 23 at approximately 10:10 a.m. police received a report for a theft at the Sobeys located at 210 Wyse Road in Dartmouth.​ A man had stolen merchandise from the store and when confronted by staff fled the area on foot.

On February 24 at approximately 12 p.m. police received a report for a theft at the Atlantic Superstore located at 9 Braemar Drive in Dartmouth.​ A man had stolen merchandise from the store and when confronted by staff fled the area in a vehicle.

On April 12 at approximately 9 p.m. officers conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of windmill Road. A man and woman were arrested without incident. Ammunition for a firearm and sensory irritant were seized from the residence. The woman was released without charges.

Sean David Ouellet, 35, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

  • Theft under $5000 contrary to section (334(b)) CC x3
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section (355(b)) CC x3
  • Breach of recognizance contrary to section (145(3)) CC
  • Breach of probation x2 contrary to section (733.1(1) a) CC x6
  • Breach of recognizance/peace bond contrary to section (811) CC x5
  • Breach of a prohibition order contrary to section (117.01(1)) CC x2
