Police charge man for robbery in Halifax

Police charge a Halifax man for a robbery that occurred overnight in Halifax.

Shortly before 5 a.m. this morning police responded to a robbery that had occurred at Ultramar Gas Bar located at 2816 Gottingen Street in Halifax. The suspect came into the store and had a short conversation with the clerk before going around the counter demanding money. There was no weapon seen but one was alluded to by the suspect. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the area on foot.

Following the investigation police were able to locate the suspect a short distance away and he was arrested without incident.

The accused, a 57-year-old Halifax man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face robbery charges.
