Police charge man for robbery in Upper Tantallon, Halifax, N.S.

The Integrated HRP/RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) has charged a male in relation to a robbery that occurred at Lawton’s Drug Store in Upper Tantallon.

On May 8th, the Halifax RCMP/HRP Integrated GIS released photos of a suspect in the robbery that occurred on May 4th at 6:38 p.m.

at Lawton’s Drugs Store on St. Margaret’s Bay Road. A lone male suspect entered the store and threatened a female employee with a syringe/needle. He demanded that she hand over prescription drugs. The employee complied and the suspect fled the store. A police service dog assisted the officers but the man could not be located. Police believe the man got into a car. No one was injured.

On May 17th, RCMP were in the Hubley Center Parking lot and observed what he believed to be the suspect’s car. An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the male driver. The Integrated HRP/RCMP GIS unit later executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 329 in Mill Cove and seized items related to the investigation.

Michael Tristan Charles Evans, 26, is facing charges under the Criminal Code charges including Robbery and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. He has been remanded to court until his next court appearance.
