Police charge man in Ultramar robbery

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in connection with a robbery that occurred on May 11 in Dartmouth.

 

At 1:20 a.m. on May 11, there was a robbery at the Ultramar located at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. The suspect entered the business, produced a needle and demanded money from the employee. He was provided with a sum of money and fled on foot towards the downtown area. Numerous police units and K9 attended, however, they were not able to locate the suspect. 

 

The incident was investigated by the General Investigative Section and on May 27, 23-year-old Nathan Jeremy Downing was arrested at 9:05 p.m. by the East Quick Response Unit outside of an apartment building on Primrose Street. He was held for court and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today on charges of robbery, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of breaching a probation order.
