Police charge man with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle – Dartmouth

A 23 year old male was arrested in Dartmouth last night after he crashed his vehicle into a light standard along Highway 111.

Just after 1:30 am, this morning, east patrol members observed a speeding SUV travelling eastbound on Highway 111 between exits 6 and 7.  The vehicle was driving dangerously and estimated to be travelling in excess of 150 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.

Members were about to pursue the vehicle when it immediately crashed into a light standard.

The 23 year old male driver was uninjured and arrested with out incident.  He will be held for court facing a charge of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  He was taken to the Dartmouth General as a precaution for observation due to the speed of the crash.
