Police charge man with pointing a replica handgun and uttering threats

On Saturday February 20, 2021, New Glasgow police received information in relation to a weapons complaint that took place at a residence on Frederick Street in New Glasgow. Information received is that when two females knocked on the door of the residence, both were met by an man who reached into his apartment and pointed a handgun at one of the female’s head and threatened to kill both of them. 

New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit conducted a Search Warrant of the Residence and seized the Handgun, which was determined to be a replica.

New Glasgow Regional Police Patrol Unit located the suspect on Sunday February 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. and transported him back to New Glasgow Regional Police Station.

New Glasgow Regional Police has charged an 81-year-old-male from Pictou County with:

  • Uttering Threats X 2
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Using Imitation of a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence

He was released upon strict conditions and will appear in Provincial Court in Pictou on May 3, 2021.
