Police charge SOARS Executive Director with sexual assault, Lower Sackville, N.S.

Investigators with the Sexual Assault Investigation Team (SAIT) of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged the Executive Director of Social Opportunities and Rec Society (SOARS) with sexual assault.

On March 16th, 2015, a 17-year-old girl from the Halifax area reported being sexually assaulted while attending a March break camp at SOARS. Officers with SAIT began an investigation which resulted in charges being laid against 48-year-old Anthoney Leo Gough of Middle Sackville. He was arrested without incident in Lower Sackville yesterday and is facing the following charges:

– Sexual Assault
– Sexual Exploitation of Person with Disability
– Driving while Disqualified

The accused will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.

Police believe there could be other possible victims and would like to speak with anyone who has information about this incident or any other similar incident(s). Individuals are asked to call (902) 490-5180.
