Police charge two adults for trafficking after a traffic stop and search in Beaver Bank

June 10, 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . Members of the Halifax District RCMP/HRP Integrated Drug Unit have charged two people after a traffic stop in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia.
 
On June 9, 2011, 8:42 PM, The Halifax District RCMP Street Crime Unit (SCEU) arrested a man and woman after a traffic stop on Beaver Bank Road.  Police seized approximately $2000, a quantity of marihuana, a scale, and bear spray.  The Integrated Drug Unit then executed a search warrant at a residence on Susan Drive in Beaver Bank.  As a result of the search, police seized drugs, over $3000 cash, drug paraphernalia, a prohibited cross bow and knife, a bullet proof vest, and brass knuckles.
 
The 25-year-old man from Beaver Bank is currently in police custody and will be appearing in court today.  He is charged with offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Sec 5.2) and weapons offences under the Criminal Code.
 
A 25-year-old female from Beaver Bank also faces charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
