Police Charge Two Men in Donald Smith Homicide

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit will be laying charges against two men in connection with the 2010 homicide of 27-year-old Donald Chad Smith.
Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit will be laying charges against two men in connection with the 2010 homicide of 27-year-old Donald Chad Smith.
 
On October 23, 2010, officers responded to a building on Joseph Young Street in Dartmouth for a report of a shooting. The victim, Donald Chad Smith, was shot while making a pizza delivery and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
Earlier today, investigators arrested three men in connection with this homicide, two in HRM and one outside the province.
 
As a result of the investigation, two 21-year-old men, one from Dartmouth and one from Cherry Brook, are being charged with first-degree murder. They will be held in custody and appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow. The 26-year-old man arrested outside the province has been released without charges.
