Police charge youth after threats made to school

Halifax Regional Police have charged a male youth with threats in relation to a call yesterday in Dartmouth.

At 10:30 a.m. police responded to Ellenvale Junior High School located at 88 Belle Vista Drive in relation to a threats call. The school reported receiving two anonymous emails containing threats.

Through the course of the investigation a suspect was identified and it was determined that the threat was a hoax. At 1 p.m. a 15-year-old male from Dartmouth was arrested without incident at Ellenvale Junior High School. He will face two counts of uttering threats and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court at a later date.
