Police conclude investigation in fatal pedestrian/vehicle collision
Police have concluded their investigation into a fatal pedestrian/vehicle collision that occurred in Halifax in July.
At approximately 11:10 a.m. on July 22 police responded to a report of a pedestrian/vehicle collision that had occurred on Lady Hammond Road and MacKintosh Street. The pedestrian, a 63-year old Halifax woman was struck while in the roadway by a transport truck that had been turning on to Lady Hammond from MacKintosh Street. The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Through the investigation there was no evidence to support laying charges in relation to the fatal collision however the truck driver, a 53-year-old Dartmouth man, was issued two summary offence tickets for equipment deficiencies.
