Police conduct Drug Search at Cannabis Dispensary after Fire – Halifax

At 2:30 a.m., 19 April, Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency and Halifax Regional Police responded to a structure fire inside the Cannabis Lounge located at 740 Bedford Highway, Halifax.​ Once the fire was extinguished a large quantity of cannabis was located inside.​ Police secured the premise for Drug Search Warrant.​

At 11:00 a.m., The Halifax Regional Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police Integrated Drug Unit executed a Controlled Drugs & Substance Act Search Warrant at the Cannabis Lounge.​ Officers seized a large quantity of cannabis and cannabis infused products.​ No arrests have been at this time and the drug investigation is on going.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and the fire investigation remains with Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency.
