Police continue to investigate disappearance of Marty Leger, Spider Lake, N.S.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Marty Leger.

On May 29th, 2014 at approximately 8:40 p.m., Lower Sackville RCMP received a call of an overdue mountain biker in the Spider Lake area off Waverley Rd.

Thirty-year-old Marty Leger had gone biking by himself and was supposed to return home around 4 p.m. When he did not return his family went looking for him. Despite an extensive search by RCMP, Ground Search and Rescue teams from Halifax and Eastern Shore, Joint Task Force Atlantic, Halifax Regional Police Service Dog and the Department of Natural Resources, Leger was never found. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as approximately 6 feet, 260 lbs with short hair and had a beard with a mustache. Police continue to investigate his disappearance.

Anyone venturing out into the woods in the Spider Lake area (cycling, hiking) should report anything out of the ordinary to RCMP. Anyone with information about this missing person case is asked to contact the Integrated Special Investigations Section at (902) 490-5333.
