Police continue to investigate the disappearance of Leonette Purcell, Fall River, N.S.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Leonette Purcell.

On December 16th, 2004, 56-year-old Leonette Purcell of Grand Lake was reported missing by her family. She was last seen on the morning of December 16th at their Grand Lake residence but was not home later in the day when a family member returned home.

Leonette Purcell has not been heard from since that day. Items in the Purcell’s home appeared out of place or disturbed. An extensive search in the area of Grand Lake failed to reveal her whereabouts and police believe her disappearance is suspicious.

Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate this case, with the goal of determining Leonette Purcell’s whereabouts. They are asking anyone with information regarding Leonette Purcell’s disappearance to call any RCMP office, Halifax Regional Police or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
