Police currently on scene of weapons call in Bedford

HRP release:

Halifax Regional Police is on scene of a weapons call in Bedford.

This morning, at approximately 9:20 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop near Bedford Highway and Meadowbrook Drive. During the traffic stop, a weapon was recovered, and the driver of the vehicle fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, 5’3” tall, with short brown hair and wearing a black shirt and black shorts.

Officers, along with a K-9 Unit, are currently on scene searching the area for the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020.

Police are asking the public to remain away from the area to allow officers to investigate.
