A senior who was reported missing is safe after being located by Halifax Regional Police K9 Unit in a wooded area last night.
Just after 8 p.m. last night, Halifax District RCMP received a report of a 75-year-old man who had failed to return home after searching for his dog in a wooded area on Lawrencetown Rd. in Lawrencetown.
Halifax District RCMP responded with assistance from Police Service Dog Nico and his handler, Halifax Ground Search and Rescue (Halifax GSAR) was also activated.
PSD Nico and his handler initiated a track and located the man safe and sound in a wooded area.
Eastern Shore Ground Search and Rescue (Eastern Shore GSAR) was initially called to assist but the request was called off soon after, as the missing man was located. The RCMP would like to thank the Halifax and Eastern Shore GSAR teams for their assistance.
