Police have charged a Halifax woman for robberies

A 24-year-old Halifax woman has been charged in relation to two Halifax robberies that occurred in July and September.

On July 19 police responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Irving Gas Station located at 2499 Robie Street in Halifax. A woman went in to the store, used a stick as a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. She was given an undisclosed amount of money and she fled the area on foot.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on September 25 police responded to a robbery that had occurred at Needs Convenience located at 6130 Chebucto Road in Halifax. The suspect came into the store, covered her face and then demanded money from the clerk stating she had a weapon. No weapon was seen. She then left the area with an undisclosed amount of money.

As a result of the investigations a suspect was identified and arrested on September 26 without incident.

Rachel Leanne McMullin of Halifax is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery and wearing a disguise.
