Police charge man for drug and weapons offences

Police have charged a man with multiple offences in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

At approximately 8 p.m. last night investigators in the Drug Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested a man without incident in the 6200 block of North Street in Halifax.

Investigators searched the man and seized 105 grams of crack cocaine along with a quantity of powdered cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs. Investigators also seized a knife and brass knuckles.

Jason John Carman, 36, of Halifax is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous (x 2)
  • Carrying concealed weapon (x 2)
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
