Police have charged a man with voyeurism in relation to an incident that occurred Monday in Dartmouth.

At approximately 4:25 p.m. on August 15, police received a report that a man had taken a photo of an 11-year-old boy who was in the stall next to him in a men’s washroom at Mic Mac Mall. The boy left the washroom and reported the incident to his mother who alerted mall security. Security officers entered the washroom and detained the man until police arrived on scene at approximately 4:40 p.m. Patrol officers arrested the man and seized his cell phone. As a result of the investigation, investigators executed a search warrant of a Middle Sackville residence Tuesday afternoon and seized a computer and other electronic storage devices. The man was released from custody Tuesday afternoon.

Today, investigators charged 31-year-old Ian Gerald Keddy of Middle Sackville with voyeurism. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on January 3, 2017. This matter remains under investigation by members of the General Investigation Section and the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, both of which fall within the Criminal Investigation Section.
