Police have charged two people after searching a residence

Police have charged two people after a search of a residence in Halifax yesterday.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on November 7 investigators in the Drug Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, along with the Guns and Gangs Unit and West Division Patrol Members conducted a search at a residence in the 200 block of Willet Street in Halifax.

Two people who were inside the residence were arrested without incident. Investigators seized over $2000, a quantity of, cocaine, hydromorphone pills, lysergic acid (LSD) and 2 tasers.

Charles Frederick Conway, 48, of Halifax appeared in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the controlled drugs and Substances act (x3)
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of restricted weapon without a license contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a court order contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code

Kathleen Conway, 44, of Halifax appeared in Dartmouth Court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the controlled drugs and Substances act (x3)
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of restricted weapon without a license contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code
