Police have identified the woman and the man involved in the incident in Cole Harbour last night thanks to the assistance of the public

Police have identified the woman and the man involved in the incident in Cole Harbour last night thanks to the assistance of the public.

Just after 10 p.m. last evening, Halifax District RCMP responded to a 911 call where a female was forcibly dragged into a vehicle by a male who then drove off with her.

Investigators with the Major Crime Unit, of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, received information from the public which helped identify the man and woman. Investigators have confirmed the woman is safe.

The investigation is continuing.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance through telephone calls, shares and retweets on social media.
