Police Investigate Break & Enter into ATM – Halifax

At 11:09 p.m. on the 7th of January, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a Break & Enter into an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Vimy Avenue Halifax.

Two suspects believed to be males, wearing all black and masks attempted to force open an ATM.  Tenants interrupted the suspects before accessing the cash in the ATM.  The suspects fled on foot toward Lacewood Drive.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.

Police Investigate Weapons Call – Halifax

At 12:42 a.m. on the 8th of January, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a male with a firearm attempting to enter the Irving gas station at 2499 Robie Street Halifax.

The male was not able to enter the store and left south bound on foot.  Patrol officers located the male a short distance away and arrested him without incident.

The male was in possession of rolled papers wrapped in black tape that resembled a firearm.

The 35-year-old male from Halifax is facing weapons charges and will appear in Halifax court on a later date.
