Halifax Regional Police West Division members responded to a complaint of an assault on a 9 year old boy at 230pm today in the area of Fairwinds Place in Bedford. After speaking with the boy, officers learned he was walking in the area alone was approached by a man he did not know. They had a short exchange which resulted in the man grabbing the boy by the arm. There was a brief struggle and the boy managed to break away and he ran home. The 9 year old boy was uninjured by the assault, but was shaken by the incident. The man is described as 6’2 with an average build, dark complexion with straight black hair. He was wearing a black/grey baseball hat on backwards with a red, grey and black hoodie with high top red and yellow sneakers.
