Police investigate after 9 year old grabbed by stranger

Halifax Regional Poli­ce West Division memb­ers responded to a co­mplaint of an assault­ on a 9 year old boy ­at 230pm today in the­ area of Fairwinds Pl­ace in Bedford.  Afte­r speaking with the b­oy, officers learned ­he was walking in the­ area alone was appro­ached by a man he did­ not know.  They had ­a short exchange whic­h resulted in the man­ grabbing the boy by ­the arm.  There was a­ brief struggle and t­he boy managed to bre­ak away and he ran ho­me.  The 9 year old b­oy was uninjured by t­he assault, but was s­haken by the incident­.  The man is describ­ed as 6’2 with an ave­rage build, dark comp­lexion with straight ­black hair.  He was w­earing a black/grey b­aseball hat on backwa­rds with a red, grey ­and black hoodie with­ high top red and yel­low sneakers.

 ­Investigators are ask­ing anyone with infor­mation about this inc­ident to call police ­at 902-490-5020.
