Police investigate after youth stabbed near Lacewood transit terminal

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a stabbing that occurred today in Halifax.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. officers responded to a report of an injured person in the area of the 300 block of Lacewood Drive. A youth had been stabbed by another youth, and the suspect fled the area on foot. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male youth in his late teens with long dark brown hair, approximately 5’7” tall, wearing a blue ball hat, a white hooded sweatshirt and grey faded jeans.

The investigation is in the early stages.  A police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues and officers search for the suspect.
