Police Investigate an Assault with a Weapon – Halifax

At 12:20 a.m. 24 January, Halifax Regional Police responded to a physical altercation with one male injured by a hatchet in an apartment, in the 2300 block of Gottingen Street Halifax.

Patrol officers located a 36-year-old male from Halifax, with non-life threatening injuries in one apartment, located, and arrested the suspect in another apartment.  Both males are known each other.

A 40-year-old male from Halifax is held for court facing charges of Attempted Murder, Assault with a Weapon and Mischief.  Investigators with Patrol, the General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.
