Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault with a weapon incident that occurred last evening in Dartmouth.
East Division patrol members responded to a report of a man who had been sprayed with a sensory irritant on Pinewood Drive. The man had attempted to stop a fight involving an unknown man and woman when he was sprayed with a sensory irritant. The man and woman then fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim suffered minor injuries and it does not appear the victim and the suspect are known to each other. During the course of the investigation officers located the man and woman, and arrested the man without incident.
A 22-year-old Dartmouth man is scheduled to appear today in Halifax Provincial Court to face charges of assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, domestic assault and unlawful confinement.
