Police Investigate Assault with a Weapon

Last night, 4 Jan. just after 11:00 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a Weapons call at Split Crow, 1855 Grandville Street, Halifax. A caller reported a male attacked a female (38 year-old) with a beer glass to the face. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police located the suspect a short distance from the bar. Upon arrest the suspect was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon (switchblade knife). The suspect is a 25 year-old male from Head of Jeddore, is known to the victim. The suspect will be charged with:

– Assault with a Weapon,

– Possession of a Prohibited Weapon,

– Possession of a Weapons for a Dangerous Purposes
