[Update] Area cleared – Police investigate bomb threat

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a bomb threat that occurred this morning in Dartmouth.

At 8:33 a.m., police responded to a business located in the 0-100 block of John Savage Avenue for a bomb threat after the business received a threatening phone call from an anonymous caller. Officers are on scene and searching the area with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, however, nothing suspicious has been located to this point. Businesses in the area have been evacuated as a precaution, and John Savage Avenue has been closed to traffic between Akerley Boulevard and Frazee Avenue. Officers are also conducting traffic control on surrounding side streets.

The investigation into this matter is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
