Police Investigate Car/Pedestrian Collision

Halifax Regional Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a driver involved in a car/pedestrian collision in Dartmouth today.
 
At 3:12 p.m., police responded to a car/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Akerley Boulevard and Windmill Road. A 12-year-old girl crossing Akerley Boulevard in a marked crosswalk with her mother was hit by a vehicle turning right from Akerley Boulevard, onto Windmill Road. The vehicle briefly stopped and the driver exited the vehicle to apologize before leaving the area towards Sackville on Magazine Hill. The girl was transported to the IWK Health Centre by EHS with non life-threatening injuries. The vehicle is described as a four-door silver Hyundai and the driver as a white man, 35 to 45-years-old, with dark hair and a moustache.
