Police investigate dirt bike crash

RCMP release:

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a dirt bike crash that occurred in Upper Tantallon.

On September 4, at approximately 4:13 p.m., RCMP officers, EHS and fire services, responded to a dirt bike crash on Hammonds Plains Rd. at Scholars Rd.

Responding officers learned the dirt bike was travelling on the sidewalk when the driver swerved to avoid pedestrians and lost control.

The driver, a youth, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS LifeFlight.

Hammonds Plains Rd. remained open to traffic as investigators, including an RCMP collision reconstructionist, attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
