Police Investigate Early Morning Robbery: Easter Sunday

At approximately 655 am, Halifax Regional Police responded to a 911 call at the Needs Convenience Store 100 Highfield Park Drive,  in Dartmouth. Upon arrival on scene it was learned that the suspect entered the store and approached the lone female clerk with a knife.

He immediately began to fill up a garbage can with cigarettes, the suspect then fled on foot toward Pinecrest Drive. Patrol Units and Police K-9 are currently attempting to locate the suspect. No one was hurt in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, with investigators on scene.
 
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 years of age, 5'7", 130 to 150 pounds with dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured puffy bomber jacket with a hood and baggy flannel pyjama style pants. He covered his face with a camouflage coloured bandana.
 
Police are asking anyone with information on this robbery or who may have seen any suspicious activity in that area this morning,  to contact investigators at 490-5016 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
