Police investigate fatal accident involving transport truck

RCMP North East Traffic Services is investigating a fatal collision that occurred near Millville.

At approximately 7:20 a.m. on December 3, RCMP officers, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 105. Investigators learned that an eastbound Chrysler 200 and a westbound Peterbilt 367 transport truck collided on the roadway.

The driver and sole occupant of the Chrysler, a 31-year-old man from New Waterford, was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The occupants of the Peterbilt – a 42-year-old driver from New Waterford and a 20-year-old passenger from Sydney – were not physically injured.

Hwy. 105 was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
