Police Investigate Fenwick Street Assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that took place earlier this morning in Halifax.

 
At 10:53 a.m., police responded to an assault in progress at a residence on Fenwick Street in Halifax involving a male suspect and a female victim. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival but was arrested nearby after a short foot pursuit. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. At this time, police do not believe the victim knows the suspect. Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Major Crime unit are currently investigating the incident.
 
The investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 490-5016.
