Police investigate hate motivated mischief

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating hate motived mischief that occurred at a school in Porters Lake.

On April 25, at approximately 12:50 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment received a report of mischief at Porters Lake Elementary School on Inspiration Dr. RCMP officers learned that graffiti, containing a derogatory word, had been spray painted on playground equipment sometime the night prior.

Information and evidence gathered by investigators indicates that the mischief was motivated by hate based on race.

The RCMP takes incidents of hate with utmost seriousness and condemns these criminal acts.

The investigation is ongoing.
