Police investigate home invasion

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that left a 54-year-old man with serious but non-life threatening injuries on May 8 in North Preston.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a call of a stabbing at a home in North Preston. Police arrived to find that the suspect had left the area. The victim was taken to hospital.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim had been at a home on Ernie Ln. when a man forcibly entered and demanded money. A struggle ensued during which a knife was introduced which resulted in the victim being stabbed. The suspect then fled the area.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
