Police investigate home invasion in Lower Sackville

 

March 21, 2012, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . .The Integrated RCMP/HRP General Investigation Section (GIS) is investigating a home invasion that occurred last night in Lower Sackville.
 
At approximately 10:40 p.m., RCMP responded to a 911 call at a residence on Hillside Drive.  Two men broke into the home, made demands, and assaulted the 48-year-old victim.  The victim was able to flee to another residence and call for help and it is believed that suspects then fled the on foot.  The victim did not sustain injuries; however, the suspects did have a weapon and caused damage to the inside of the home.
 
Investigators do not believe that this was a random incident. The suspects are described as one white man, early twenties, wearing a hooded-sweatshirt and a ball cap and one black man, early twenties, wearing a bandana covering his face.
 
Investigators are continuing this investigation and are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477 ), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
