Police investigate incident with Coast Guard ship as suspicious

At approximately 9:30 a.m. Halifax Regional Police received a report of a Canadian Coast Guard Ship partially submerged in the 1400 block of Ketch Harbor Road in Sambro Head.

The ship was undergoing repairs at the time and was last seen out of the water, secured on a slip. Preliminary investigation revealed that someone damaged the slip which caused the ship to slide back into the ocean.

The extend of the damages to the ship is not known at this time.  No one was injured in the incident.

The incident is believed to be suspicious, and members of the General Investigative Section of the integrated Criminal Investigation Division are in the early stages of the investigation.
