Police investigate Preston shooting, Halifax, N.S.

Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place Friday evening in North Preston. At approximately 6:00 p.m., RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired on Downey Road, North Preston.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired on Downey Road, North Preston.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a male in his late teens or early twenties and a 20 year-old female were walking on the side of the road when a vehicle drove up beside them and several gun shots were fired from the vehicle.

The male was not injured. The female was shot in the arm and has been transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are on scene, continuing to investigate.
