Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred in downtown Halifax over the weekend.
On October 23 at approximately 4 a.m., police were advised of a disturbance in an alleyway on Grafton Street near Blowers Street. Police attended the area and saw a woman lying on the ground trying to get up. The 21-year-old woman advised police that she was walking on Grafton Street near Carmichael Street where she met up with two females not known to her. They struck up a conversation and when the females asked if the victim had any money to go to another location, she was grabbed by the hair, assaulted and a sum of money was taken. She was transported to the hospital for assessment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspects are described as two women, 20 to 30-years-old. One suspect is black and approximately 5’4” and 150 pounds. There is no further description of the second woman.
