Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery that occurred this afternoon in Halifax.
At approximately 12:50 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Fenwick Convenience, 1143 South Park Street. A man entered the store, walked behind the counter and stated it was a robbery, demanding cigarettes and cash. The store employee told the suspect to leave from behind the counter. The man then punched the employee and left, empty handed, on foot and headed south on South Park Street. The area was checked by patrol and K9 members but the suspect could not be located.
The suspect is described as a white man, 20-30 years old with a thin build. He is clean shaven with a brown buzz cut and was wearing a long beige trench coat and blue jeans. The employee was not injured and the suspect did not have a weapon.
This matter is in the early stages of the investigation. Members of Patrol and the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are continuing the investigation.
