Police Investigate Robbery with Weapon  – Halifax

At 2:09 a.m., 24 November, Halifax Regional Police were flagged over in the 5700 block of West Street Halifax, by an adult male (38 yrs) who reported he was inside the Commons Inn when he was attacked by an unknown male with a knife and sprayed with bear spray. ​The victim fled the building and flagged over a passing police vehicle.

While speaking with police, the victim identified the suspect exiting the building.​ Officers arrested the male suspect (22 yrs) without incident.​ Officers were then able to follow the smell of Bear Spray to a unit inside the building and arrested two adult females (both 18 yrs) inside.​

Police have secured the unit while a Search Warrant is obtained by members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the Bear Spray and was treated by Emergency Health Service paramedics at the scene.​ It is not known if the victim and suspects knew each other, the investigation is ongoing.​ The male (22 yrs) suspect will be facing charges of Robbery and Weapons related offences.
