Investigators in the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are investigating a sexual assault that occurred yesterday morning in Fairview.
At 11:35 a.m. patrol officers responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a 28-year-old female victim. The woman was walking along the pathway at the top of Rosedale Avenue between 11:15-11:30 a.m. when she was approached from behind by a man who pushed an object into her back, leading her to believe it may have been a weapon. The suspect then directed her into a wooded area where he sexually assaulted her.
The description of the suspect is limited to a man wearing jeans, a worn/faded black hoodie and Adidas style sneakers. Anyone with information about this incident or who may have seen any suspicious activity in that area yesterday morning is asked to contact investigators at 490-5016 or anonymously through CrimeStoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
