Police investigate shooting in North Preston

 

January 27, 2012 Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . The Halifax District RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) is investigating a shooting that occurred in North Preston.
 
Yesterday at 10:05 p.m., Halifax RCMP responded to a 911 call at Donald Lane in North Preston.  Upon arrival, RCMP located a 31-year-old male suffering from a single gun shot wound.  The male was transported to the QEII hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
 
Members of the Halifax RCMP/HRP Integrated GIS Unit are in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
 
Investigators are asking anyone who might have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact them.  People can contact any RCMP office, Halifax Regional Police or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to "CRIMES" (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca ( http://www.crimestoppers.ns.ca/ ) . Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
