Police investigate shooting incident, North Preston, N.S.

The General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating a shooting that occurred last evening.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., RCMP and HRP responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting incident that took place outside a residence on Churchill Terrace.

Preliminary investigation determined that several shots were fired from a vehicle toward a group of people standing outside. A 27-year-old man was struck in the foot and was taken by ambulance to the Dartmouth General Hospital, the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.

The investigation is in its early stages. Investigators are asking anyone with information on this shooting to come forward to their local RCMP detachment, Halifax Regional Police or by contacting the Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 -$2000.
