Police investigate shooting that occurred this morning in No­rth Preston

Just before 5 a.m. this morning, Police responded to a comp­laint that a vehicle had been shot at wh­ile driving on Cain Street.

The driver, a 22-yea­r-old man from North Preston, was the lo­ne occupant of the vehicle when it was shot at by an occupant of a passing vehic­le. The man was not injured. The suspect vehicle, a Saturn Ion, left the scene prior to Police arriv­al, but was located a short time later parked on a street in Dartmouth. It has been seized by Police.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by the General In­vestigation Section of the Integrated Cr­iminal Investigation Division with assis­tance from the RCMP Forensic Identificat­ion Unit and officers from Halifax Distr­ict RCMP and Halifax Regional Police.Anyone with informat­ion about this incid­ent is asked to cont­act Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Reg­ional Police at 902-490-5020.
