Halifax Regional Police is investigating an incident where a man approached a young girl and assaulted her outside a school in Dartmouth today.
Just before 3 p.m., police responded to a field near John McNeil Elementary School located at 62 Leaman Drive for a suspicious person call. At approximately 2:45 p.m., an unknown man assaulted a 10-year-old girl who was walking home. The man jumped out of the bushes near the baseball field and grabbed the young girl by the arm. The suspect is described a male wearing a black hoodie, face mask with eye and mouth holes, blue jeans, black gloves, and black foot wear. Witnesses saw a man walking from the area of the school toward Highfield Park Drive. Patrol members and a K9 officer patrolled the area but were unable to locate the man.
