Police investigate weapons complaint

May 19, 2013, Halifax Regional Municipality(HRM) … Halifax District RCMP are investigating a complaint of an adult male, armed with a knife, threatening to kill another adult male in a yard at a Walter Amos Drive residence in North Preston.
 
On May 18th, 2013 at approximately 8:15 p.m. police responded to the call and when members arrived on scene, the suspect ran back into a nearby residence. The suspect then stepped back outside and verbally confronted several RCMP members and an HRP dog handler. The suspect spat at the responding officers and threw an empty bucket at one of the RCMP officers. No officers were injured.
 
The 61-year-old North Preston resident was then taken into custody, without incident. He is facing several charges including  assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assaulting a police officer.  He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday morning. The matter is still under investigation.
