Police investigating after attempted child abduction in West End Halifax

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a suspicious circumstances call that occurred yesterday in Halifax.

At approximately 5 p.m. two men got out of a van and attempted to grab a 10-year-old child who was walking on Olivet Street. The child did the right thing and ran away and reported the incident to a trusted adult.

Both men are described as 40-50 years old. One man is described as having a grey beard and wearing black clothing, and the other man is described as being bald.

Anyone who may have information in relation to the incident or video of the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
